The MR1 was Benelli’s answer for people looking for a 5.56-chambered semi-auto rifle that could serve as a reliable alternative to the AR-15 rifle. The Benelli MR1 uses the ARGO (Auto Regulating Gas Operation) gas system to operate. Benelli originally developed the ARGO system for its shotguns after deciding that the weight of night-vision scopes and other specialized equipment might compromise the effectiveness of their ultra-reliable Inertia Driven system. The ARGO system is also used in the USMC’s M4 combat shotgun. The MR1 uses the same style of ghost ring rear sight that Benelli’s combat shotguns use. The picatinny rail atop the receiver allows for a wide variety of optics to be mounted. Operating the weapon is similar to Benelli’s line of home defense guns. One great feature of the MR1 is that, while it ships with a 5-round magazine, it can use M16 magazines. Rifle is New, unfired, It comes with its original box.
