Description:
Colt Bisely Model Single Action Army Revolver in .41 Long Colt, manufactured in Hartford, Connecticut in 1909. Out of 44,350 Bisley revolvers made, only 3,159 were chambered for .41 Colt cartridges. The Bisley differed from the original Colt Single Action Army design in the curvier grip shape and lower hammer spur.

Action Type: Single Action Revolver with Side Loading-Gate Cylinder
Markings: The top of the barrel is marked “COLT’S PT. F.A. MFG. Co. / HARTFORD. CT. U.S.A.” The left side of the barrel is marked “(BISLEY MODEL) 41 COLT.”. The left side of the frame is marked “PAT. SEPT. 19. 1871. / JULY 2. 72. JAN. 19. 75.” and with an encircled Rampant Colt logo. The loading gate is marked with assembly number “1822”. The hammer slot is marked with an upside-down “3”. The bottom-front of the frame and trigger guard are marked “311875”, the butt is marked “311 / 875”.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a fixed blade. The rear sight is “V”-notch in the top strap.
Grip Configuration & Condition: The grips are two piece panels. The grips have expected handling wear. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips are in good condition appear to be original to the gun. Cylinder advancement slots sharp.

Bore Condition: The bore is light gray with well defined rifling. 
Overall Condition: 
  • This handgun retains about 20% of its metal finish. Finish remains mostly in protected areas such as the cylinder flutes, around the front sight, inside and around the corners of the trigger guard, and on the butt. Most other surfaces have worn to gray or a light patina.
  • There is scattered light surface oxidation and minor erosion. There are some scattered light nicks and scuffs.
  • The action shows good shape with a turn-line on the cylinder.
  • Cylinder is tight with very little wobble..
  • The screw heads are sharp to with strong slots.
  • The markings are clear.
Overall, this revolver is good to very good.
  • The iron parts bear about 20% of the original blue finish.
  • The markings are clear.
  • The numbers match.
  • The trademarked hard rubber grips show wear with no chips or scratches.
  • The bore is in good condition, clean with nice rifling and some rifling pitted about one inch in from the muzzle.
  • The action is excellent, strong and crisp with all four cocking notches functional.
