I had been looking for one of these quite some time and found this one being sold from the late Howard Trotter's collection. After I received it, I decided this one was unique and too nice for my personal shooter. I was lucky enough to find a second one that was used without the box to use a shooter, so I am going to let someone else enjoy this collector's piece. Howard Trotter (Lake Charles, Louisiana), 1946-2023
Mr. Trotter was a successful businessman from Lake Charles, LA. who, as a life-long enthusiastic gun collector and shooter, was a common sight at almost all of the gun shows between Baton Rouge, LA and Houston TX.
During his lifetime, Howard built a huge repertoire of firearm history, a lasting friendship and network of fellow owners and collectors in the firearm industry. Smith and Wesson firearms became his passion early on, with his collection expanding to other handguns and manufacturers.
Howard's enthusiasm and trademark for collecting handguns including anything that was RARE & ODD, SERIAL NUMBER ONE, LIMITED-EDITION RUNS AND MOST IMPORTANTLY PRE-LOCK S&W PERFORMANCE CENTER VARIANTS!
Howard was a true collector and owned well over 2000 firearms with an emphasis on S&W but a love for the Remington 32’s, Browning High grade shotguns, and Winchester lever guns.
