Description:
Nelson Duzan, 1st Indiana Artillery was shot in the Neck at the Battle of Baton Rouge and survived. The hammer is a CS Fayeville repacement and appears to be period. Wood is nice with no sanding and the metal overall has light pitting overall but markings are visible. There are several of these Merrill rifles that were bought by indivudals and are early with iron patchboxes. Ram rod old replacement probably during use. Serial #24xx and matching. Free Shipping.
