"NSN, circa 1790-1805, .72 caliber, 44.5"". Assembled from surplus ""Charleville"" parts from the Revolutionary War, this militia musket shows heavy use. Barrel and iron parts are a dark grey patina with oxidation noted on the surface. Lock Plate is stampd with ""Charleville"" forward of the hammer. The alteration of the hammer is typically seen on Confederate altered guns. Stock does show wood loss along the edges especially the left side. The initials ""PERS"" are stamped on the left side just rear of the side plate.Action holds at full cock.
