Description:
This is a full box, 20 original rounds, of .40-70 Ballard Rifle ammunition manufactured by Winchester with 330 grain patched bullets. This is the very seldom-seen 1890's picture box dating to the very late 1890's with "Center Fire" designation on the top label and the later right facing wood cut of a Ballard rife showing in detail the large tang sight. The two piece box is solid with expert brown tape repairs to the bottom inside corners and shows some age soiling to the buff box with light edge and rub wear. The green labels are near excellent with beautiful graphics. The cartridges are correct and appear native to the box and in excellent condition.
