Description:
This is a Swiss Model 1878 Pioneer Style Sawtooth short sword with leather scabbard marked "GEBR. WEYERSBERG SOLINGEN" on the Ricasso above a Swiss Cross with "1" over "78" on the reverse. It measures 25 ??" overall with a 19 ??" blade with a sharp sawtooth edge that is in near excellent condition with only very mild carbon staining spots. The leather washer is intact with a brass handle and pommel having a 4" guard marked "S" and the grip scales are held with 5 rivets showing some flattening of the points. It comes in a brass throated and tipped leather scabbard in near excellent condition. A scarce Swiss sword in Excellent condition.
