Made in 1869 by Henry Holland in his inimitable style as a 577, subsequently (1879) rebarreled by the successor firm Holland & Holland in 500 3" BPE caliber, and more recently relined and reproved (2012) in the same caliber, this classic is still going strong 120 years later in otherwise largely original condition. Jones underlever action is beautifully engraved in interlocking well-shaded double line scroll. Non-rebounding dolphin hammers with stalking safeties. Unpitted apart from the original spurred steel buttplate. Bores have moderate erosion ahead of chambers but otherwise are bright and strong. Platinum-lined sprung 3 leaf sight intact and indexed. All screws appear to be original and clean. LOP 14 1/4", drops 1 5/8" and 2 3/8" to sights, 14" cast off. 9.5 lbs.
