Description:
This is a solid block mold with pivoting sprue-cutter and hollow point attachment. The brass block has a dull ochre-brown patina with "H. HOLLAND" on one side, with Greenfield and ".360" caliber marking opposite. The hinged sprue-cutter retains about 60-70% of the original blue finish, with some scattered specks of freckling throughout. The turned ebony handles have scattered handling marks and minor surface blemishes, with some straight line stress cracks along the main handle. Harris Holland, in partnership with his nephew, Henry, formed the company that would eventually be known as Holland & Holland. The company was initially known as H. Holland prior to 1876, which gives a rough date window for the manufacture of this mold. Additionally, a small container of 12 cast bullets is also included.
