Description:
This listing is for my PAL M4 bayonet and scabbard. The bayonet has seen a good bit of use and the edge has several nicks and the point is slightly rounded. According to my research, this one was manufactured during WWII, as it has the 1/4 inch brown bakelite spacers at the top and bottom of the grip with the grooved leather handle between. Apparently this bayonet has seen a good bit of use, as most of the original finish is gone from the metal parts. There is no rust and no evidence of sanding or grinding, just a slightly bright finish from use. The grips are solid with some dings from use. The only markings are the US M4 PAL on the crossguard and some stampings on the hilt, as shown in the photos.
The scabbard is a very good US M8 scabbard by B M Co. There are no cracks in the fiberglass and the webbing is in very nice condition. This version has the 1/8 inch hole drilled through the tip for a string tiedown. The back is marked 37-1-D. Please look at the photos, as this is the bayonet and scabbard you will receive.
