Full Flap Civilian Belt Holster. This holster will hold your 1878 Colt 7 1/2 barrel, 1873 Colt 7 1/2 inch barrel or copy, 1875 Remington 7 1/2 inch barrel or copy, 1860 Army 8 inch barrel, 186l Navy 7 1/2 inch barrel, 1858 Remington 8 inch barrel, 185l Navy 7 1/2 inch barrel and all conversions there of. It will not fit Dragoons or Walkers. This holster is an authentic copy of the holster that was worn by civilians and often times retired or ex-Civil War soldiers. This style holster is one of the most versatile holster ever made, it carries a wide variety of arms and yet still has great styling. It gives the best protection to your revolver and the only style that does that. These holsters are hand made from 6-7 oz leather. Lightly oiled to a natural tan or a nice black. Sewn with yellow linen thread. Has an open toe with a full flap that closes on a brass stud. The boarder stamping and rosette stamp on the pouch were chosen to closely approximate the original. Right or Left hand draw, is often worn with the revolver butt forward. Please choose your draw preference carefully. The reason for full flap holsters worn with the butt facing forward is a full size revolver is not easily drawn out of a flap holster with butt to the rear. With the butt forward, a person can easily TWIST draw the weapon forward and up into the firing position. This holster is copied from an original antique holster in the River Junction Collection.
