"This appears to be a special order Improved Hnting and Target Rifle No. 3 with the Hadley attachment for the 32 rimfire cartridge. It has a special order forearm, high quality checkered wood, Swiss type buttplate, graduated tang peep sight, and Beach front sight. The 26"" round barrel has an excellent bore with bright, strong rifling.The bore measures .280 at the muzzle. The barrel has approx. 95% blue. The frame has approx. 90% case colors. It is marked 1873 on the left side and MANUFACTURED BY/MASS. ARMS CO./CHICOPEE FALLS (lightly struck due to the hardness of the case colored frame). The checkered buttstock is excellent with light handling marks. The checkered forearm is very good with a 1"" chip missing at the right rear. The action functions correctly. This very nice rifle has great features and is ready for your single shot collection.
