Description:
This is a full sealed box, 20 original rounds, of .303 British hunting ammunition sold by the National Cartridge Company and later condemned by the Canadian Government. In 1920 a group from Toronto Canada formed a Company to sell this ammo. They purchased a quantity of MKVI surplus military ammo built by Dominion Cartridges. They then cut off the nose of the bullet and attempted to convert the same into sporting ammo. It is interesting to note that the box is an obvious attempt to have the appearance of a Dominon cartridge Box with the layout, graphics and Diamond Logo. This venture failed when the ammo was condemned by the chief inspector of explosives for Canada. In l940 another attempt was made to deal with the Ammo and in the l960's this condemned Ammo began to appear on the market in Toronto. The box is solid and remains sealed with labels intact showing excellent graphics. An excellent example of a very scarce box for the collector.
