Description:
For sale is a very nice BSA bolt-action sporting rifle chambered in .30-06 Springfield. The Birmingham Small Arms Company is well known for not stamping the model onto their rifles, and this one is no exception. It is the long-action model of either the Royal series, Majestic series or the Monarch series BSA Sporting rifle. All three well-made models were very similar and were produced from the mid-1950's to mid-1970's. The rifle is in overall good condition with normal signs of use. The 24" barrel has a very nice bright bore with strong rifling and also comes with a brass tipped blade front sight and a two-leaf folding rear sight. The bluing is 95% with a few light handling marks and the Monte-Carlo walnut stock is in good shape as well with some light abrasions. There is a Jaktmarker & Fiskevatten ("Hunting Grounds & Fishing Water" - Sweden's oldest independent hunting magazine) sticker sealed on there pretty well. The action on this rifle is very smooth and the trigger breaks cleanly around 3-4 lbs. with almost no take-up. L.O.P. is 14" over a nice BSA vented rubber recoil pad.
