Ruger Single-Six Convertible – Old Style, 3-Screw Model, Single Action Pistol, in .22Long Rifle/.22 Magnum
This Pistol was manufactured in 1964 according to Ruger’s serial number chart. I have owned it since 1979 and have fired it only a few times. It is in excellent condition with bluing at 95%, only showing light wear at the muzzle and some wear on bottom of trigger guard. There is some light pitting on the right side of the frame. Stocks are excellent. This is a single-action pistol with a barell length of 5 ½ inches, and has fixed sights. Mechanically it is in perfect working condition.
In 1983 Ruger introduced a kit to replace the original hammer/trigger mechanism for safety reasons. A transfer bar was designed to eliminate accidental discharges caused by the hammer accidentally hitting the firing pin with a live round in the chamber under the original system.
While this pistol was modified by the Ruger Service Department, I am including the original parts they removed so it can be converted back into the original format if so desired by a Ruger collector. (Please keep in mind that converting this gun back to its original configuration should only be done for “collector value” since it would make it potentially unsafe again.)
The pistol comes in the original red, black and gold box and retains the extra .22 Magnum cylinder in its original red velvet bag and separate box. Also included is the original manual and the information supplied by Ruger concerning the conversion package.
