This original beauty truly is in near new cond and looks just like it did when it was made about 40 mins south of where we are located back in 1966. Chambered in very capable 35 Remington (all who have used this fine cal know it is vastly superior to 30 30 and 32 in terms of its killing power on game) Good for animals up to and including moose at reasonable ranges. This one is a beauty . Bonus is Lyman receiver site...(about 150.00 if you were to find one like it on ebay or elsewhere), far more effective than the factory open site (factory rear replaced with a blank so as not to interfere with the sight picture on the Lyman. This near perfect esample of a vintage 336 has never even had a scope mounted with filler screws still in place, the gold color plating on the trigger which often deteriortes is approx perfect as it the blue throughout. It seems unlikley that you could ever find a nicer one unless new in box
