Description:
N.P. Ames 1838 U.S. Copper Peace Powder Flask
- Design consists of a spread winged American eagle above a circle of 26 five pointed stars, center of circle are a pair of shaking hands within a sunburst.
- Below the circle of stars is the US shield at the center of a panoply of flags with crossed cannons and a Corinthian helmet
- Design is on both sides
- 9 1/4" x 4 1/4" dimensions
- Adjustable brass spout and cap are alson in good condition
- Cap marked N.P. Ames and 1838 date
- Just below neck on both sides are string keeper mounts
- Very collectible flask of the early 1800s
- Above and below hands on each side is the faint inscription of what appears to be WH over SH on one side and WH over JHR
