Shipping is actual cost with a minimum of $30.00 for pistols and $50.00 for rifles/shotguns to ship to most of the 48 contiguous states. Shipping to Alaska may require an extra fee. Description:
The MR556A1 is the civilian legal version of the famous HK 416 rifle. It features a 16.5 inch cold hammer-forged barrel made from cannon-grade steel. The barrel uses a medium contour to strike a good balance between the low weight of a light barrel and the high accuracy of a heavy barrel. Unlike the original HK 416, the MR556A1’s barrel is NOT chrome lined. The rifling consists of conventional lands and grooves, with 6 grooves and a 1:7 inch right-hand twist. This should be more than sufficient to stabilize any load available for the 5.56 NATO and .223 Remington cartridges. Equipped with a flash hider from the factory, the muzzle is threaded with the common ½-28 pitch, making the installation of other muzzle devices very easy. The aluminum fore end is fully M-LOK compatible and allows for the mounting of a variety of accessories such a bipod, forward vertical grip, flashlight, and laser. Matching the fore end, the forged aluminum upper features a MIL-STD 1913 picatinny rail for mounting a variety of sights. The rifle does not come with iron sights and is considered optic-ready. An extended charging handle right out of the box makes operating the MR556A1 with an optic installed much easier. The upper receiver also features a forward assist and a case deflector. The stock is adjustable and has 6 possible positions to accommodate different lengths of pull depending upon the shooter’s needs. What separates the MR556A1 from most AR15 style platforms is its use of a high quality gas piston system. This allows the MR556A1 to operate much more efficiently and cleaner. The MR556A1 will not need to be cleaned as frequently as a direct-impingement AR15 does. It also makes the rifle more resistant to mud, dust and sand. The forged aluminum lower receiver sports an ambidextrous safety and a beveled magazine well. The two-stage trigger will have a pull weight between 4.5 and 5.6 lbs. The Magpul MOE K2+ pistol grip has a small trap door on the bottom so that tools or spare batteries can be stored. Weight of the MR556A1 is a fair 8.6 lbs. This is slightly on the heavy side but is well worth the reliability and accuracy that any H&K rifle provides. This new in box rifle comes with one 30-round magazine. Overall, the MR556A1 is a fine rifle and one suited for a variety of tasks, with the reliability to back it up in the worst conditions.
