Description:
This is a full box, 10 original rounds, of .40-90 SS (Single Shot) 3 ¼" black powder ammunition for Winchester 1885 and Sharps Rifles with 370 grain Patched bullets. The green primary and wrap around side label is intact with some staining and mild age soiling having call outs for Winchester Single Shot and Sharps rifles. The two piece buff box has professional repairs to several of the inside top corners with splits on the others and tape residue on the outside edges. The cartridges are in excellent condition with the original paper wrap on the ends of the cartridges to protect the paper patched bullets. A seldom-seen box with the rarer large Winchester rifle call out as identified by Giles & Shuey in One Hundred Years of Winchester Cartridge Boxes, 1856-1956 p105.
