A factory letter accompanies this investment grade and incredibly rare 3rd Model .22 Single Shot confirming the configuration and detailing its original shipment on November 3, 1915 to the William Reed Company in Boston, Massachusetts. The gun is formerly of the Ralph Tremaine collection and has a 1999 dated factory letter bearing the same name. Knowledgeable collectors are aware of the extreme rarity of special ordered barrel lengths in the 3rd Model Single Shot series, with the 6" being the least encountered; doubly so in the early bright polished blue finish. This awesome example retains 99% of the original blue finish showing only the faintest of collector type handling evidence and aging. The original gold medallion two screw extension target stocks are every bit as mint as the gun itself, with beautiful grain and figure pattern. Overall a top-shelf and rarely encountered Single Shot that will take a literal lifetime to ever duplicate, let alone upgrade. You own this one or you don't!
