Serial number 61874. Made in 1856. 36 caliber with a 7 ½" barrel. Metal has a dark mottled patina. This gun is completely mismatched with guns in the US martial ranges. This is probably a “campfire" gun where guns were disassembled for cleaning and reassembled without making any effort to put them back together with matching numbers.
