"NSN, made in 1839, .54 caliber, 8.5"" round smoothbore barrel. Metal is in the bright with freckled pin-prick oxidation noted throughout. Barrel is marked ""US/JGB/P"" and lock is marked "" Eagle/A. Waters/Millbury. MS/1839"". Stock is good with cartouches present, a crack is located by the side plate just behind the forward screw going up the edge. Action holds at half and full cock.
