This is a wonderfully-made pistol that retains 92-95% of the original bright, lustrous blue on the barrel cluster, with some thin freckling and surface oxidation scattered about the surface. The cylindrical frame, hammer, and trigger guard have a smooth, pewter gray patina, while the flared recoil shield retains visible remnants of the original color case-hardening. The metal has exquisite British scroll engraving throughout, and the curved walnut grip with extremely fine checkering exhibits minimal wear. There is no maker’s name on the pistol, but a blank engraved scroll is present on the left side of the frame, and a blank escutcheon on the back of the grip. The action is tight and functions flawlessly. This is a splendid British pepperbox, in excellent overall condition. Antique Price: $2,495.00 Antique: Yes |
