Description:
At 58 cal., with a 9 1/4” brass part round part octagon smooth bore barrel showing a roughened verdigris covered bore. The brass surfaces of the barrel, triggerguard, ramrod finials, and pistol grip cap rate about good showing scattered dents, dings, and other handling marks plus light tarnish.Uusllay brass barreled black oower guns were made for sea service. The lock has oxidized to an even brown patina with scattered light pitting. The one-piece walnut stock features a fluted pistol grip and rates about fair as lightly refurbished, showing moderate to heavy wear and handling marks. There are a number of smaller cracks on the forend’.. The brass pistol grip buttcap rates about excellent. The lock functions mechanically, but the notches will need attention and it includes a brass ramrod. There are two heavy stamps on the back of the barrel that are possibly oval proofs and are not discernablees with a solid grass ram-rod and tip. Overall a colorful pirate sea percussion pistol.
