Description:
WORLD WAR II German Occupation Belgian FN Model 1935 Browning HI-POWER C&R

HP35 with WaffenAmts & Replica Holster Rig

Here we present a C&R Third Reich German Occupation Fabrique Nationale Browning Hi Power Model 1935, made circa 1943 in German occupied Belgium. The Hi Power was used by both the Allies and the Axis Powers. It was designed by the famous John Moses Browning and brought to completion by Dieudonné Joseph Saive after Browning’s death on November 26, 1929. The result was a 13-round double stack magazine pistol in 9x19mm. Not only was the pistol influential before and during the war, but after WWII it was adopted en masse all over the world by an estimated 50 militaries. Its double stack magazine design itself has gone on to be used in virtually all modern double stack handguns.

As the Germans occupied Belgium, they soon took over the famous FN arms factories to produce weapons for the Wehrmacht. The FN GP35 or the Hi Power was a very well made 9mm pistol with a double stack magazine that nearly had double the capacity of the standard German pistols. 319,000 were produced during the war and it was an accurate and much-loved pistol among both Axis and Allied troops.

This pistol features WaffenAmts and a fixed rear sight instead of the earlier tangent style sight system. The Germans dropped features like the tangent sight, attachable stock cutout and the magazine disconnect in an effort to save on time, money and resources toward the end of the war. The left side of the slide is marked “FABRIQUE NATIONALE D’ARMES DE GUERRE/HERSTAL-BELGIQUE/BROWNING’S PATENT DEPOSE.” The barrel and frame are likewise with several Third Reich markings. The full serial number is on the right side of the slide below the ejection port. Several other stamps of numbers can be found on the gun.

The over condition is very good. Original finish. There is a crack in the bottom of the slide where the mainspring and guide rod are housed. The numbers match. The action is excellent. The bore is shiny bright with sharp rifling. The right grip shows some damage and repair at the top corner and middle of the back. The holster is a reproduction in fine condition. This gun comes with two magazines, one much newer.
