This is a very interesting small scale cadet style flintlock carbine. The overall length is approx. 42.5"". The 27"" round 31 bore (.531"") barrel has a very good smooth bore. The barrel has two Birmingham proofs with 31 (the bore) in the center. The barrel has much of its original brown finish. It is fitted with a top front sight-bayonet lug. The 5.5"" long lock is marked with a crown over T.W at the center and TOWER in a slight arc at the tail. The lock features a rounded S-shaped cock. The action parts are bright. The left side is equipped with a 7.25"" sling bar having two 1"" rings. The brass nose cap, ramrod pipes, side plate, trigger guard, and butt plate are fine. The stock is fine good edges, slight shrinkage, and no chips or cracks. The barrel is pin-fastened to the stock. The ramrod us present. The action functions correctly. This interesting flintlock cadet carbine weighs only 4 pounds. It is a perfect fit for a flintlock carbine collection, cadet collection, or British collection.
