Description:
#4815 Winchester 1885 “Hi-Wall”, No.3x30”x45-3/1/4” Express (which I assume is the 45-140 round). It has an Excellent bore (9 on a scale of 10), 79xxx serial range (1900 mfgr, so will require an FFL or C&R). The mid-weight full octagon barrel has about 80% coverage of blue remaining with some thinning and plumming to a dull matte’ blue patina, the frame does have some light to medium pitting on one side (see photos) and no C/H remains. Standard rear buckhorn barrel sight, and open “Rocky Mountain” front sight. Very desireable Schuetzen wide double-set triggers and long trigger guard. Fine wood with no serious deficits, shotgun butt style plate, and good barrel markings. The Cody records verification letter is, of course, included. Should you be brave enough toactually shoot this gun with a full load, this Hi-Wall will REALLY loosen all your dental fillings and probably require you to have a chiropractor on speed dial. So if you have serious masochistic tendencies, then this is the rifle for you!! It does need a firing pin return spring, but otherwise looks to be in fine working condition for the mentally impaired shooter who may want a shoulder cannon to go plinking with! Overall, considerably better than most average Hi-Walls that are found at most gun shows, and a VERY hard caliber to come across! VG++. $5245
