Cogswell and Harrison side by side shotgun
Barrels are 28", high quality damascus with ring gas check
Originally sold 12/20/1883 to Colonel Hozier
Then sold 8/61892 to HT Burbury
To quote the certificate of origin:
"This gun was produced to an order from our New Bond Street shop and wa completed by our craftsmen ofn 30th August 1881. It was built as a twenty bore double barrel side by side sporting shotgun. It was known as the "Victor" a hammerless model introduced in 1879. It had a top lever with double bolt, double triggers and a top reverse safety-i.e. forward to SAFE and back to SHOOT. The forend had Deeley Edge fastening. It was tastefully engraved throughout in keeping with the quality of this model.
The barrels were 28" long. The stock had a horn p;late and was 14 7/16" long with the bend at the comb 1 7/16" and at the heel 1 15/16". When finished and assembled the gun displayed good handling characteristics with central balance and it had an overall weight of 5 lb 10 oz."
