Description:
Serial #12125, .52 RF, 24" barrel with a fine, bright bore that has some small areas of mild freckling within the grooves. This is a great looking carbine that retains nearly all of the original leather barrel jacket that has cracked along its length, but with very little flaking. The metal has an overall mottled mottled gray patina with scattered areas of freckling, but does also have visible areas of original color case-hardening on rear portion of the frame. Some of the original bright fire blue can still be seen on the rear sight. The original sliding firing pin block safety is still present and fully functional. The walnut buttstock has small handling marks and blemishes scattered about the excellent military oil finish, while the brass buttplate has developed an attractive yellow-ochre patina over time as well. This is a fine-near excellent Sharps & Hankins overall, and would make a fantastic addition to a collection. Antique
