Description:
For sale is a Remington Arms Co. Model 1900 12ga Side-by-Side, KED Grade with BEAUTIFUL Damascus steel barrels and auto ejectors.  Approximately 98,475 Model 1900 shotguns were manufactured by the Remington Arms Co. between 1900-1910, KED being the highest of the four grades.  This 100+ year old gun is in very good condition with some light wear, consistent with its age, and all serial numbers throughout are matching.  The 30" Damascus steel barrels are in excellent condition with bright bores and show absolutely beautiful patterns (also known as banding and mottling).  There are a few very small nicks near the muzzle but nothing significant.  Almost all of the case coloring on the receiver has faded, but all of the original proofs and markings remain strong and clear.  The wood on this shotgun presents very well with strong checkering and a nice semi-glossy finish.  The stock has a few light dings/abrasions but the forend is in excellent condition.  I didn't notice at first glance but upon closer inspection there appears to be two small repairs made on the stock, one by the butt plate and one by the receiver.  Whoever made the repairs clearly knew what they were doing as they are very well done, barely noticeable, and the stock feels very solid.  L.O.P. is 13-3/4" over the original Remington Arms Co. plastic butt plate.  The action locks up nice and tight and everything functions as it should, but there is a very small amount of play in the top lever with the action closed.  I test fired the gun myself with no issues, but it is the responsibility of the buyer to have it inspected by a competent gunsmith to verify that it is safe to use.  This is a very fine example of early 20th Century craftsmanship that would make a great addition to firearm collection.  Feel free to call or text with any questions.
