Description:
.416 Rigby built on a Vektor true magnum length double square bridge Mauser action by Dave Caboth of Alta, Iowa and engraved by Jesse Kaufman of Sturgis, South Dakota. Features a 24" Douglass Premium all integral feature barrel with integral quarter rib, banded swivel stud, second recoil lug, and banded ramp front sight. Rear sight with one standing and one folding leaf. The Vektor magnum length double square bridge actions were CNC machined in South Africa in the 70's and very similar to Granite Mountain actions. Square bridges machined for Alaska Arms rings. Topped with a Swarovski 2.2 x 9 x 42 Habicht Nova scope with 3 heavy posts and fine crosshairs. Left sided NECG three position side swing safety which is more ergonomic for the right handed shooter. Three panel bolt knob checkering with rosette engraved tip. Drop box bottom metal with straddle floorplate and trigger bow release. Stocked in the English style in an excellent piece of well figured Bastogne Walnut with extensive fiddleback. This is heavy and harder than woodpecker lips! Stock features include shadow line pancake cheekpiece, point pattern checkering with mullered border by Mr. Kaufman, two screw inletted rear swivel stud, double crossbolts, and ebony forend tip. Stock inletting is immaculate. Classic scroll engraving to include the floorplate, trigger guard, grip cap, crossbolts, and action screws. Rings, bolt shroud, crossbolts, grip cap, and rear swivel stud are color case hardened. A set of 1" rings also supplied. LOP is 14 1/8" to a Silvers pad with widows peak. Weighs in at 11lb 10oz as scoped.  Mr. Caboth was an instructor at the Colorado School of trades for several years. He worked with both Dakota and Hein on stock design. His style, metal work, and inletting is unsurpassed. Mr Kaufman is an ACGG and FEGA Master Engraver. His checkering and engraving is of the very highest caliber. This piece is new from the makers and done in the classic British safari rifle style. It is built the way a safari rifle should be! It may well be the finest .416 Rigby on the planet!
