Description:
We are offering for sale a WWI era EDDYSTONE Model 1917 bolt action rifle chambered in 30-06 caliber. This is a very nice example which was refurbished at the San Antonie Arsenal as indicated by the "S.A.A." on the left hand of the stock. The gun remains in very good, fully functioning condition.
26" barrel is very good with nice finish; Barrel is marked "E" and "5-18" with the flaming bomb. The bore remains clean with good rifling; Some light scattered pitting. The action remains very good with crisp marks; Bomb mark on the left side of the breech. The serial number range puts manufacture during July of 1918; Metal scuff on serial number. Gun functions flawlessly. Original stock is very good with scattered field wear; No breaks or cracks noted. Metal buttplate is good with roughness on top edge from previous oxidation wear.
