Description:
Serial #D8651, 22 LR, 6 inch round barrel with a bright excellent bore. This is an early 5th Model 922 manufactured by the H&R Arms Company (Harrington & Richardson) in Worcester, Mass in the original box with a factory inspection slip dated August 31, 1948. The revolver features the then optional one-piece plastic Tenite grips and retained the gold plated front sight of the earlier versions. The metal surfaces of this revolver retain 99% original blue showing just a couple tiny handling marks. The polished sides of the hammer remain brilliant while its back surface shows strong case-hardened colors. The maker and model markings along the left side barrel remain crisp and clear. The checkered mottled brown Tenite No. 4 target grip remains in excellent condition showing a few light handling marks along the base and the action seems to function well mechanically. Included is the original blue paper-covered box numbered matching in grease pencil along the bottom. The box remains in about very good condition showing some moderate edge wear and scuffs with a few old tape repairs along some of the corners and a split along one side of the base. The end label is completely intact and shows the double action call out which was later omitted as all 922's are double action. The box contains a simple wooden factory cleaning rod along with the original factory inspection slip that is dated August 31, 1948. A very fine, like new and rather early Model 922 revolver that would be hard to improve upon. FFL or C&R
