Description:
32-1/2 inch round barrel chambered in 50-70 Govt. caliber with a very good shiny bore. Breechblock is dated 1869 and the lockplate is dated 1863. Metal surfaces retain about 80-90% original untouched nickel with scattered areas of minor flaking turning a brown patina.  Original sights. Wood has the usual mars and dings. A fair amount of original varnish remains. Buttplate retains about half the nickel. Correct cleaning rod. Nice functioning action. A scarce nickel finish gun that was possibly for ceremonial or parade use.
