Hood Firearms Company, were located in New York, and produced a variety of very good quality pocket pistols, with a variety of interesting and colorful trade names, including Brutus, Czar, Hard Pan, Little John, Marquis of Lorne, Tramps Terror, and Wide Awake.
This example is a .41 caliber five shot revolver has a 2 inch barrel, birdhead Walnut
grips retaining 98% plus original Nickel finish, scattered minor spotting, with sharp patent markings "Pat. April 6, 1875".
The bore is very good with strong rifling, the action works, the cylinder indexes, and locks up tight.
