Description:
An Early & Very Desirable U.S. Civil War Military Issued Harper's Ferry Model 1855 Two Band Rifle Dated 1859 In Nice Untouched Condition. All original and complete. The rifle has very nice untouched metal with very good edges. The lock is marked "Harpers Ferry" and dated "1859", & has the correct eagle on the door. It is also dated on the barrel 1859. There is natural untouched peppering on the lock and the patchbox however all markings are still visible. All of the metal on the rifle has a wonderful even natural brown color throughout it. The top of the barrel is marked "B/18" behind the sight, which are most likely regimental markings. The ramrod is also original to the gun. All of the wood on the gun is original, nice, and untouched. There is a visible original U.S. Inspectors cartouche on the backside of it. All the screws are also very good throughout. It has a fine and tight action and a very good rifled bore in it. These Desirable Rifles Were Used Heavily Early In The Civil War By Both the North & The South. This Is A Very Nice And Untouched Looking Example Of An Early U.S. Civil War Military Issued Harper's Ferry Model 1855 Two Band Rifle Dated 1859!
