Rare Winchester Model 70 Ultra Grade Featherwieght fitted with a 22 inch barrel, nicely figured walnut pistol grip stock with 1/2 inch recoil pad and steel pistol grip cap, push feed action, is blue finished, and chambered in .270 Win.. This rifle is serial numbered "UG 416" and is a 1 of 1000 Model 70 Ultra Grades made in 1982-1983. The rifles markings/stampings are as follows: The left side of the barrel is marked “-WINCHESTER MODEL 70 FEATHERWEIGHT ULTRA GRADE – 270 WIN.- / -MADE IN NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A. WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL-“, the top-rear has an ovalled “WP” proof. The left of the receiver has “WINCHESTER / -TRADE MARK-” in gold. The right of the chamber ring is marked “UG 416” in gold, found again stamped on the bottom of the bolt body. The receiver, floorplate and guard have extensive foliate scroll engraving with gold motif. There is a gold band at the muzzle and a ram’s head on the floorplate. The pistol grip cap is aslo engraved. The engraving is signed “Bottega C Giovanelli” at the left-rear of the bridge/top of receiver. This gun has not been fired and is near new condition except for minor handling marks/scuffs/scratches on the stock and a couple of corrosion spots on the bottom of the trigger guard. Comes with its original box, shipping sleeve, and instructions manual.
