.45 ACP. SN: 586257 (1919). Standard End of War production. Five-inch “G/A” and “P” marked barrel. Type 1 “Eagle/S5” and “7” final inspection marked frame w/ lanyard loop and ‘M” marked Colt slide have arsenal parkerized metal finish. Reissue replacement brown fibre grips and blued 7-round “L” marked magazine. CONDITION: Very Good +. Likely unissued. Pistol w/ period original parts retains about 80% of its arsenal finish with some thinning mainly at muzzle and sharp edges. Bright bore. Good tight action and mechanics.
This pistol is an example of an early sale of "unserviceable" pistols by the DCM. The original 8-24-1960 invoice originating from Benicia Arsenal, Benicia, Calif. w/ serial number, accompany this pistol. One Owner Estate Gun !
