A Very Rare 1840's To Early 1850's Pre Civil War Percussion Engraved "Pecare & Smith" 10 Shot Pepperbox Pistol With Scarce Silver Nipple Shield In Very Nice Untouched Condition. Made By Jacob Pecare & Joseph Smith Of New York. Serial #50, all matching numbers. A very limited amount were made from the late 1840's to the early 1850's. All original and complete, made in .28 caliber.  The rare pistol has very nice metal and markings throughout. It has fine factory engraving on the iron frame and backstrap. All of the metal has very goon edges. It has the rare  narrow silver nipple shield on it. The barrel on the gun has a natural darkening brown patina mixing with original brown finish throughout it. The rest of the gun has a natural gun metal patina on it. The original deluxe ivory grips are fine throughout. It has a good action and bores in it. This Is A Very Rare 1840's To Early 1850's Pre Civil War Cased Percussion Engraved "Pecare & Smith" 10 Shot Pepperbox Pistol With Scarce Silver Nipple Shield In Very Nice Untouched Condition. The Scarce Pistols Are Early Enough To Have been Used By The North Or The Sount In The Civil War!
