Colt MOVIE GUN 1878 Engraved 38 W.C.F. Movie Gun gray/patina gun, 4 ¾” barrel, Manufactured in Hartford Connecticut in 1893 on top of the barrel line colt address on the side of the barrel is 38 W. C. F. and on the bottom of the barrel is 20th Century Fox in the rear of the frame by the grips is a circle with the rampant horse. In good mechanical condition in single-action and double-action comes with two piece colt original hard rubber grips in very good condition. The engraving on this gun is very fine and ornate. At some time in its life probably by 20th Century Fox the front sight was removed very professionally it almost looks like there never was a site there. I went out and look at the movie database and there was only one gun I could find that came close to this gun where Charles Bronson used it in the movie “Drumbeat” in the pictures they had you really can’t see the engraving but you can tell it’s a smaller caliber than of 45 and it has no front sight on the 4 ¾” barrel 1878 double-action he’s using.
