Description:
Presented is a very nice Ruger New Model Blackhawk in .44 Special caliber. The original 3 screw Blackhawk was made using the original Colt design meaning that in order to carry the gun safely the hammer should be sitting on an empty chamber. In 1973 Ruger changed the design to use a transfer bar system which makes it safe to carry the gun with hammer sitting on a loaded chamber.....this example is of the newer design which also allows loading in the hammer down position....the orginal Blackhawk had to in the "half cocked" position for loading. This particular example has been used a little and as such has some light handling and use marks but it is a very nice revolver. Not many Blackhawks are made in the .44 Special caliber making this example highly desirable. The barrel has a good bore with strong rifling. Sights are a blade front and adjustable rear. The action locks up tightly in the "fired" condition. Makers box is included.
