Proved for 2-1/2" cartridges and choked improved cylinder & modified. The rib is roll marked: 'WILLIAM POWELL & SON. 55 CARRS LANE. BIRMINGHAM.'. The patina case color hardened finished action body and lockplates are adorned with traditional rose bouquets and scroll engraving and beaded fences. Both lockplates are engraved 'WILLIAM POWELL & SON in banners. Gold-inlaid '2' on top lever, barrel rib near breech and fore-end tip. The action is fit with a doll's head third fastener, blacked engraved top lever with the left side of the thumbpiece checkered and automatic safety with gold-inlaid "SAFE" ahead of the checkered and engraved safety slide.
