Description:
1966 was the Winchester Repeating Arms Company's 100th year of operation. To commemorate this occasion, Winchester produced a run of fancy Model 94 rifles. These were based on post 1964 Model 94's actions with a gold plated receiver and forend cap, brass "rifle" (curved) buttplate, frame mounted saddle ring, and a heavy octagon barrel with a full length magazine that was nicely polished and deeply blued. The forearm and straight hand stock was select walnut. All were in caliber .30-30 Winchester. They were available in rifle (26") and carbine (20", actually Short Rifles) barrel lengths, and sets of rifle and carbine with consecutive serial numbers were also offered. There were a total of 102,309 rifles and carbines manufactured. This Centennial 66 is unfired and is in near new condition, with only a few minor handling marks/scuffs/scratches, mostly on the frame. The barrel, magazine tube, hammer, lever, bolt, loading gate, sights, & screws retain 99%+ original blue. The stock and forearm retain 99% of their original finishes, with only a few very minor handling marks, mostly on the stock. The bore is as new and the action functions the same. Includes an original Centennial 66 box/sleeve (tattered condition & does not number to the gun), Winchester Centennial pamphlet, and hang tag. CURIO & RELIC
