Colt Large Frame Lightning Rifle. 45-85-285 caliber. 28" round barrel and full magazine tube. Original front and rear sights. Very nice markings. Serial number is 1916. I will rate the bore a 7.5 on a scale from 1 to 10. British Proof Marked (see pics). Barrel and magazine tube retain 45% of their original blue with the remainder a gray / brown patina. Receiver retains 55 to 60% of its original finish. Action functions nicely. Both forend and buttstock are in good condition showing normal handling marks. Toe of buttstock has some fine hairline cracks (see pics). Everyone knows how rare these rifles are so here is an excellent opportunity to own a well above average Large Frame Colt Rifle.
