Description:
Winchester model 1873 in 44/40 caliber 24 inch round barrel and rear tang peep/vernier site manufactured 1881. This is a second model 73 and the finish is all original. It appears there may be a light coat of varnish on the wood but it still fits tight like factory. It has a rear adjustable tang peep sight, buck horn sight midway and standard front sight. The action is tight and functions properly. There is some pitting on the barrel but the rest of the metal is smooth. The bore is clean and shiny with decent groves. More pictures available.
