Description:
The Maynard Carbine was a breech-loaded carbine used by cavalry in the American Civil War. The First Model was manufactured between 1858 and 1859. About 5,000 were made.It was highly praised by the soilders who had the oppurtunity to use it. 

Piece is marked by James Little who was reported as missing and was never found 
Metal work has silver patina mostly everywhere
Visibly bruised from battlefield use
Saddle ring in excellent condition 
Heel of stock stamped with Cartouche mark 
Mechanically shootable 
All original
