Description:
Serial #712168, .44 W.C.F. (.44-40), 19 5/8 inch shortened barrel with a good lightly frosted bore with good rifling. This is the Winchester model 1892 Saddle Ring Carbine manufactured in 1913. The barrel and frame range from gray to plum-brown with numerous old use marks. The gum wood stock and forearm have been refinished to a fairly smooth surface with numerous old use marks and contusions from honest use with the forearm having a stable crack forward of the barrel band. It is equipped with the original flip up rear and blade front sights. This gun looks to have had factory sling retainers installed with the front one that was mounted on the band now missing. The action is smooth with tight lock up and crisp trigger. A salty looking 1892 carbine that would be right at home in a good Western movie or Cowboy Action competition. FFL or C&R;
