Description:
Serial #138, .44 Lipfire, 7 1/2" part octagon barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a splendid revolver that retains about 20-25% of the original bright blue remaining, mostly behind the recoil shield and on the underside of the barrel, with the balance turned to a smooth gray and plum-brown patina. The cylinder pin retains most of the original blue finish, and most of the original color case-hardening remains on the hammer. The walnut grips are both numbered to the gun on the interior, and have most of the original varnish remaining, as well as some minor handling marks and blemishes present on both panels. The action is tight and fully functional. Only a few of these revolvers were ever made, with estimates in ranging from 250 & 500, before a S&W suit brought production to a halt due to patent infringement. This example is in excellent condition, and would make a stellar addition to any collection. Antique
