Atkins opened his first store in 1877 in London. Henry Atkin later merged with Stephen Grant and Joseph Lang to form Atkin Grant & Lang. This business still operates today in Hertfordshire England. Based on the serial numbers and Proofs this pair was most likely made just before WW1. Gun #1 is marked "Henry Atkin from Purdey "on the bottom of the receiver. Case colors are near 100%. 14-1/2 LOP over the pad. 28" barrels choked IC/CYL. Double triggers, slight amount of cast for right handed shooter. Gun is on face and shows only a slight amount of handling. Gun #2 is 3 numbers away from gun #1, and matches nearly identically.
