Markings: "TOWER" on lock plate (right side of frame). Crown Insignia with "GR" on lock plate between cock and strike pan (right side of frame).  "JAPAN EIG" on left side of barrel forward of breech plug. This gun was my father's and it has been in my possession since his death in 1968. It has been stored in a heated environment, in a box. The stock is near mint, with a few very small scratches. Brass fittings (left side plate; front and rear ramrod pipes; trigger guard; and butt cap) are in original condition, slightly tarnished (never polished). Metal parts (flint lock assembly; ramrod; barrel; trigger) have a light patina that can be removed if desired. Flint mechanism is perfectly functional at half- and full-cock.
